Shilla Dynasty with a thousand year old history, ancient Gaya Culture, and Confucian Culture representing the
spirit of Seonbi. The Province is also known as the place of national protection and loyalty, fortress of national
adversity.
The Province is starting point of the national spiritual campaigns such as Saemaeul Movement, nature
protection
campaign and other movements. Bequeathing the spirits of Wharang (ancient military cadet in Shilla
Dynasty) and Seonbi,
all citizens of the Province have strong spiritual drive and respect friendship, sturdy will and
justice. The Province has
area more than one fifth of national territory, beautiful natural scene, and 335km of long
coast line, clean East Sea,
all of which comprise various development potentials. The Province has been a
center of electronics, steeling processing
and textile industries, leading the industrialization of Korea and has rich
sources of research and technology related
human resources with 37 universities and colleges,
the second largest number next to Seoul and Gyeonggi Province.
In addition, the Province of Gyeongsangbuk-do
host a worldwide renowned cultural fair, based on outstanding cultural
capacity and numerous cultural resources
(20% for total National Cultural Inheritances).
The Province of Gyeongsangbuk-do, by concentrating will and
capacity of all citizens and leading the development of
the nation, is developing herself as a hub of exchanges in
north east asia. |
